2023 Britain’s Strongest Man results – Adam Bishop takes the crown – Breaking Muscle

The bishop is, once again, the most powerful person in the kingdom.

The 2023 edition of the Britain’s Strongest Man (BSM) competition sees the heavyweights Adam Bishop wins second BSM title of his career, Bishop’s first BSM victory came in 2020 when he defeated two-time World’s Strongest Man (WSM), Tom Stoltman and Stoltman’s brother Luke. According to strongman archives, it was also Bishop’s last professional strong win, with his 2023 Giants live-organized victory ending a nearly three-year drought. Joining them on the podium in the 2023 iteration of the BSM were Gavin Bilton (in second) and 2019 BSM champion Graham Hicks (third).

The single-day BSM competition consisted of five events for the respective competitors to work on: deadlift ladder, car walk, Viking press for reps, loading race and power stairs. In all-round effective performance, Bishop won four out of five events save for the Viking press for reps, where he finished seventh.

He was quite satisfied with his performance afterward, given the context of Bishop descending from Skåneid to stand on top of a podium at the end. Bishop had finished third during the 2022 BSM, and that disappointing lapse has propelled her to come back stronger than ever.

In response, the veteran strongman shared a thorough, appreciative reflection on his second BSM title and his first win in three years.

“Back at the top once again, twice as Britain’s Strongest Man,” began Bishop. “with wonderful night [Giants Live], This has always been my favorite show of the year with an amazing Sheffield crowd. After the disappointment of last year, it was a great feeling to do well and get that trophy back in our hands. A big thanks to all the crowd, [the Giants Live] crew, and to my fellow competitors for putting on such a spectacle of strength.

It was a pleasure sharing the podium with my friends Gavin Bilton and Graham Hicks. The 2023 season has got off to a great start. Let’s keep this going.

2023 arguably couldn’t have gotten off to a better start to Bishop’s competitive year. The athlete will now turn his attention to earning a spot at the 2023 WSM in Myrtle Beach, SC, April 19-23, 2023. His best career result during that competition was sixth place in 2020. Chances are Bishop can parlay being a two-time BSM champion into a benchmark performance at strongman’s biggest competition.
