Jamal Brower Logs 426.4-kilogram (940-pound) Traditional Stance Raw Deadlift – Breaking Muscle

Already one of the world’s top deadlifters, Brower is ready for a new pulling feat.

Some powerlifters start a deadlift set or workout with a modest goal. they operate with a mindset of creating Any Progress is made once their barbell grips are in place. Deadlifting dynamo Jamal Brower does it too, but he usually takes his pulling prowess to a more ridiculous level.

Brower shared an Instagram clip of himself scoring on March 14, 2023 One 426.4-kilogram (940-pound) raw deadlift Recently during a workout. The powerlifter attaches just a lifting belt to the bridge and completes it from a traditional stance, using a hook grip. Brower (110KG) is the current all-time raw deadlift world record holder with a pull of 455 kg (1,003.1 lb) at the 2022 United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) Pro Raw Championships. Given the apparent ease of this training deadlift, it looks like more greatness is on the way.

Among current elite powerlifters, Brower’s lethality is mostly unmatched. The 432.5-kilogram (953.5-pound) personal record (PR) from March 2022 shows as much. For an athlete who places a premium on how much weight he can pull off the floor, such a milestone can be described as striking the gold.

Brower’s all-time raw deadlift world record (which was done from a sumo stance) made him only the second powerlifter to have pulled at least 453.6 kg (1,000 lb) in a full raw powerlifting meet. The other competitor to be in such rare deadlift territory is Danny Grigsby, who accomplished the feat at the 2022 USPA Virginia Beach Classic.

In addition to his deadlift record, Brower also holds the all-time Raw world record in the 110-kilogram division. they overall 1,052.5 kg (2,320.3 lb) At the 2022 USPA Raw Pro, further solidified himself as one of the faces of powerlifting. Browder’s record had given him a notable jump over rival Derek Thistlethwaite, who had initially qualified Browder as the 2022 World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) American Pro with a raw total of 1,002.4 kg (2,210.1 lb).

With all of that said, being able to pull that much weight somewhat casually from a traditional stance is a significant step forward for Brower. The athlete has risen to prominence mainly due to showcasing his power using the sumo stance. It looks like surpassing the 1,000-pound threshold while lifting from a traditional position may be a powerlifter’s next ambitious goal.

When it comes to breaking records and defying gravity with his deadlift, it’s probably a matter of “when,” not “if,” as Brower’s name is once again in the record books. This is a powerlifter addicted to redefining what’s possible with a barbell. At this point, rewriting the Strength dictionary is more of an expectation, not a hope.
